5 Axis CNC Machining Service

5-axis CNC machining is a modern and advanced computer-based manufacturing process. The cutting tools get five axes for better movement. As a result, they cut the material into complex shapes and geometries with precision. Are you looking for a reliable 5-Axis CNC machining service? You're at the right place!

At Multi-Wins, we offer 5 axis machining services at very affordable rates. Our manufacturing team has been using this modern CNC machining for years. So, we have the experience and capabilities to make complex shapes with tighter tolerances. Our machining service will make you come to us again and again.

What is 5-Axis CNC Machining?

In the past, 3-axis CNC machining was the only option we had. However, this manufacturing process was less efficient, especially when making complex shapes. We used to reposition the material multiple times to get the desired shapes. This limitation is due to the three axes on which the cutter (tools) could move.

However, the five-axis CNC has brought a breakthrough. The five-axis CNC machines have five axes for the movement of tools. The tool can move in the X, Y, and Z axes just like three-axis machining. Apart from these three, there are two more rotational movements. These machines can rotate the workpiece around the X (A axis) and the Y (B axis).

So while working, we don't have to reposition the workpiece repeatedly. Instead, we can cut the workpiece into complex shapes due to five different axes. Moreover, this machining process is faster, helping us meet the strict deadlines. Additionally, this process offers ideal precision due to CNC (computer numerical control).

Has five-axis machining completely replaced three-axis machining? NO! They have their place in the industry. The three-axis machining is used when relatively simple parts are needed. On the flip side, the five-axis is only used when manufacturers make parts of highly complex geometries. In manufacturing industries, both of these types are used according to their strengths and weaknesses.

How Our 5 Axis CNC Machining Services Works?

As trusted 5 axis CNC machining experts, we believe in offering value. Our focus is to ensure that our customers understand our working process. This helps them know how we can help them in making high-quality and complex parts. Here are the four steps involved in our 5 axis CNC machining service:

πŸ“‚ 1- Share Your CAD File

As you know, the 5-axis CNC machines require a CAD file. Their Computerized system interprets the design and sends a signal to the cutting tools. As a result, the cutters move as per instructions and create precise cuts. You'll have to provide us with a CAD file of the desired part. You can make this file by hiring a dedicated designer. In case you don't have a CAD file, worry not and share your details with us.

πŸ’° 2- Designing and Quotation

At Multi-Wins, we have in-house designers who have expertise in various CAD software. You share your details, and our designers will make a CAD file for you. In case you require a modification in CAD design, worry not! Our team will work closely with you to ensure we get designs that match your desired shape. Once done, our manufacturing team will analyze the design. After that, we will give you a cost estimation and a roadmap for getting started.

πŸ› οΈ 3- 5-Axis CNC Machining

Once you agree to the price, we will start the five-axis machining process. In this stage, you upload a file to our 5-axis machine's computerized system. The computer interprets the design and creates instructions for cutting. It then sends those signals to cutters (tools). These tools follow the automated instructions of a 5-axis machine and begin to move. They utilize all five axes and create the parts with a shape precisely similar to our desired shape (CAD design).

πŸ” 4- Inspection & Quality Control

Once the part is made, it then undergoes the finishing process. We offer different finishing options for 5-axis machine parts according to customer needs. The purpose of these finishes is to improve visual appeal and resistance against corrosion. We don't machine parts for customers on a random basis. Instead, Multi-Wins has a dedicated quality assurance team. This team checks the quality of each part and ensures they meet tighter tolerances. Defective parts are rejected and sent back to manufacturing facilities for improvements.

Materials Used in 5-Axis CNC Machining

As a high-quality 5-axis machining expert, we're versatile in our choice of materials. Multiple types of materials differ from each other in terms of their durability and strength. But we can use all of that material in 5-axis machining to ensure our customers receive the exact product they need.

Here is the table showing the most common materials we use daily:

Material Category Common Types
Metals Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel
Plastics ABS, Nylon, PEEK, Delrin (Acetal), PTFE (Teflon)
Alloys Titanium Alloys, Inconel, Monel, Tool Steel, Magnesium Alloys
Composites Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), Fiberglass

Are you confused about which material you should choose for 5-axis machining? Worry not, as this confusion is understandable. We highly recommend reaching out to us for the best material suggestion. Our expert team will analyze your part, its usage case, and recommend the best material to you. You should never choose a random material type if you don't have the basic know-how.

Advantages of Our 5-Axis CNC Machining

We highly recommend not making the 5 axis CNC machining without careful consideration. Instead, you should carefully understand what this modern manufacturing process is capable of! In the section below, I'll discuss the key benefits of using 5-axis machining over other methods:

Material Support

5-axis CNC machines are compatible with a wide range of materials. Those include metals, plastics, specialty alloys, and the list goes on. The tools (cutters) of these CNC machines don't wear out regardless of the material used.

Complex Geometries

The 5-axis machines offer five axes to cutting tools. As a result, those tools can move in more directions. So they cut the workpiece from any angle. This can help you achieve many complex geometries efficiently.

One-Time Setup

In 3-axis machining, the operator has to adjust the position of the workpiece. However, 5-axis machining does not require this repositioning of the workpiece. Place the material on the worktable. The cutting tools will cut and shape that material in one go.

Faster Production

The cutters get more direction (axis) to cut the workpiece. Materials don't need to be repositioned many times. When you switch on the machine, the cutters cut the workpiece immediately. This one-time setup reduces the time and ensures faster production.

Tight Tolerance

The 5-axis CNC machines come with a dedicated computerized system. You upload the CAD design to this computer. The computer understands design, makes instructions, and sends them to cutters. The tools then make accurate paths and create precise cuts with tighter tolerance.

Cost-Effective

The 3-axis machine requires more labor for repositioning the workpiece. 5-axis machines reduce the need for labor. A single operation can create high-quality complex shapes effectively. So this reduces the labor, making 5-axis machining cost-effective in the long run.
